The 4th of July is always jam-packed with fun stuff to do in downtown Crested Butte.

Start the day with the traditional Pancake Breakfast, served up by the Crested Butte Fire & EMS Department, from 7 – 10 a.m. at the fire station in Crested Butte. Due to the popularity of this event, plan to wait in line for a little while. But don’t fret — there will be lots of entertainment while you wait. And if you’re really lucky, your wee-ones may get to catch a ride in the fire truck’s cherry-picker!

Expect funky, fun and good-natured laughter as people line Crested Butte’s Elk Avenue for the July 4th parade, which starts at 11 a.m. After the parade, the first block of Elk Avenue turns into the wet zone for a huge, wet, and wild water fight.

Stick around downtown for live music, a food court and old-fashioned games…

6:30 a.m. FREE shuttle departs to Gothic for start of 1/3 Marathon race at the 4-way stop in Crested Butte (Elk Avenue and 6th Street)
8:00 a.m. 44th Annual Gothic to Crested Butte 1/3 Marathon
